Nebraska head coach Frank Solich:
On the game: "We played well at times and put bits and pieces of a game together, but we really did not get it done. We did not get it done on the offensive side, at times on defense and special teams. We got off to a good start, but we knew they had the potential to come back and score very quickly, so without question we needed to put more points on the board than what we did."
On the Nebraska offense: "In the first part of the game, I thought we did some good things offensively. We moved the ball well and executed well, but Oklahoma stepped it up and then we needed to step it up again, but we did not step it up the way weeded to get this game turned around. In the second half, we had some drives going but we never finished those drives off."
On special teams: "The blocked punt was crucial. We did not play well in the special teams area. That contributed to the loss."
On OU: "Give credit to Oklahoma and its coaches, they were down 14-0 and they battled back and played very sound football throughout the game. Some of the plays that worked early on did not work after that."
"Give Oklahoma's defense credit, they made adjustments. OU really stopped the running game and we found ourselves in a lot of long-yardage situations and we do not like that in our offense. We had second-and-long and third-and-long all day, and we do not like our offense to be in that position."
"It all comes down to what you can do best. If they shut that down pretty effectively, which they did, then you are going to struggle. That is what happened to us."
"OU's backers played well and their secondary came up and played run support really well. OU has a very good defensive football team. They have an excellent combination of things."
On Josh Heupel and OU wide receivers: "Heupel handles pressure very well. We came at him with a lot of different blitz packages and a lot of different looks. He handled them very well."
"Heupel and his receivers are an excellent combination. They all make big plays and have made them all year long. There were a couple of times it looked like there wasn't going to be a receive there to make a catch, but one gets there. Their receivers are all playmakers and they have made their share against everyone they're played."
Nebraska quarterback Eric Crouch:
On the play of the Nebraska offense: "There were times today when our offense was working well and we were executing. If you can stop our offense from executing then you can beat us and that's what they did today. It just came down to execution and those things would have been there if we had just executed well today. Without the interceptions and the fumbles, who knows what happens. The victory is a credit to their defense and their whole team."
On the adjustments by the Oklahoma defense: "We threw a lot of different defensive alignments against them, but they were able to adjust. Their athletic ability and their speed played a big factor in the game. They just played a good ball game today."
On the play of Josh Heupel: "He played a great game today. He came out and played well in a big game against the number one team at home. He showed a lot of composure and did a lot of good things under pressure. We put blitzes on him and he still found a way to make things happen."
On the remainder of the season: "How we rebound from this is going to be a challenge. Last year is going to be a reminder of how we can come back from a loss and have a great season. We'll be able to bounce back and put this thing behind us."
